What if my property gets an F or G rating?+
You cannot legally let a property rated F or G. You'll need to make energy improvements (up to a £3,500 spending cap) and get a new EPC. Symple can help you find contractors for improvement work.

Typically 30-60 minutes for a standard 2-3 bedroom property. The assessor will check insulation, windows, heating systems, and lighting.
Do new-build properties need an EPC?+
Yes. All properties need an EPC before being let, including new builds. The developer should provide one, but if not, we can arrange an assessment.
Will the minimum rating change?+
The government has proposed raising the minimum EPC rating to C by 2030. We recommend improving your property's rating now to stay ahead of upcoming changes.
