What happens if the EICR is unsatisfactory?+
If C1 (danger present) or C2 (potentially dangerous) defects are found, the report will be unsatisfactory. You're legally required to complete remedial work within 28 days and supply evidence. Symple can arrange the remedial work through our network.
How long does an EICR take?+
A typical 2-3 bedroom property takes 2-4 hours depending on the age and condition of the electrical installation. Larger or older properties may take longer.
Do I need to provide the previous EICR?+
It's helpful but not essential. The electrician will carry out a full inspection regardless. Having the previous report helps them identify any recurring issues.
